| Who Is Tim ??? | I got to thinking about this the other day, and in the hustle and bustle that can sometimes be social networking, we really don't get to know much about our friends. So I thought I would write this to tell you a little about myself and let you know who I am..........
Now, where to start...lol!! As I am sure you can see, one of my passions is music and the Radio. I was in radio for about 25 years in all. I started as a DJ at the tender age of 16 working weekends at a Country/Farm/News/Sports station. Needless to say as a kid who liked Rock and Pop, this was quite an education. I got to do everything from play Ernest Tubb music, to read the hog and cow reports...lol!
As the years went by, I gained experience and finally ended up in Springfield, Missouri working for a huge Top 40 station here called ROCK 99. I did the midday show and eventually afternoon drive. This is the station where I got to meet a majority of the 80's hair bands. It was a very fun time. I was the Music Director, which meant I got to go to most of the concerts and meet the bands. It was an experience I'll never forget.
My Radio name since 1981 has been Tim Austin. While Tim is my name, Austin is a radio name. In fact, my son is named after it. As you can see by my pictures, he got to be a very popular young man in those days. We had no choice but to tell people his name was Austin Austin....lol! One of my biggest thrills was when he got to go on stage in St. Louis with RATT. They had a song at the time called "Way Cool Junior". We met them just minutes before they went on stage, and as each member of the band saw Austin, they all said, "It's Way Cool Junior"!!! So, when they got to that song, they introduced him as such and brought him on stage to play his plastic guitar and run around stage while they did the song. It was so cute!
As things go in life, 1989 was not a good year. My mother developed cancer and eventually passed away that year, and on top of it, my wife and I split up just a week before that happened. When it rains it pours. We ended up divorcing about 6 months later and I have been single since. I have had several Girl friends since, engaged a couple times, but it never quite worked out. I use to drink almost every night after my mothers death, going out looking for that new wife. Usually the women I met, ended being drug users or major alcoholics(I know, what did I expect dating strippers...lol!!). The drug users I would not have around my son, so they were immediately dumped. The drunks just couldn't handle the attention I got at the bars because of being on the radio, so that didn't work either....lol!
I worked at different stations over the years, finally getting out of the business in 2001, shortly after 9/11. Since then I've bounced around different telemarketing jobs and currently work for my best friend for his lawn business.
I'm still single, everyone tells me I need a good woman, just haven't found her yet...lol! My son is the first in my family to graduate college and is currently a High School Teacher and football coach and is getting married in May, I'm very happy for him!
As for me, I still like to Rock, I enjoy having beers with my friends, I smoke and cuss a lot and I'm still chasing women. Football and baseball are the sports I like to watch, Football being my favorite. I'm an easy going person, usually more worried about my friends well being than myself. I am however at a juncture in my life where I have to concentrate on me, which I have been trying to do lately.
I hope this gives a little more insight into who I am, it is just a small portion of my life, but thought it would let you know more about me and any comments as always are welcome! Have a good one and thanks for taking the time to read this!

| How to Comment and Rate (UPDATED) | A guy named "Michael" copied this blog and then suddenly it has exploded onto hundreds of pages. Glad it is helping people. I just updated some info at the bottom of the blog, and there is a paragraph he left out that is very important. Please scroll down to the bottom if you have already read this blog.
Before you read the rest of this Blog, here is the "key" to making money on Yuwie! Referrals...and helping keep them active. Korry(Y Guy) will tell you the same thing. This is just educational on how to get more views.........
I decided to finally answer the question
"How do you leave a comment?"
The reason is that most people really don't know how to do this and there has been so much discussion about page views that I felt this would be helpful. Also, I will show just exactly how profile and page views each step counts for.
First, let's define PROFILE VIEWS and PAGE VIEWS.
PROFILE VIEW: Anytime someone looks at your
profile, you get a PROFILE VIEW. Your friend does not get credit for a page view and neither do you. It is a PROFILE VIEW.
PAGE VIEW: Any page you visit, except your friends PROFILE, you get credit for. Any control panel page, view friends, mail, approve comments, etc.......
You must stay on a page for 3 seconds or NO ONE gets credit for any type of view. Refreshing a page also does not count. Your Blog views are already included in one of these views, PROFILE OR PAGE, they are not separate. Also, Blog views will increase by one everytime YOU yourself look at it. Most people do not know this either. It is not an accurate gage of how many people have read your Blog.
Ok here we go complete with pictures:
1. From your contol panel, select "You have ## friends
online" or go to your "Friends" link in the control panel.
2. Select the friend you wish to comment. This is your first "PAGE VIEW" you get credit for in the process.
1 PAGE VIEW
3. This will bring you to the "Controversial" backdoor as it has been called. Nothing controversial or backdoor about it at all, this is how Y GUY designed the site for you to send comments. Don't believe me? Ask him next time he is on Y Radio, this is where I got my information, listening to him. Select "leave a comment".
1 PAGE VIEW (#2 in the process)
4. Here is where you leave your comment and
you can actually now preview your comment to be sure it is done correctly. Great new feature! Also, if you do preview the comment, it is another PAGE VIEW for you. I am skipping that part in this because normally, you are not going to preview every comment. Fill in the comment and captcha if it shows up and press "Send Comment".
1 PAGE VIEW (#3 in the process)
5.This next step is where most people make their mistake. So far, your friend has gotten NO CREDIT for your
comment. Receiving a comment is NOT a PAGE VIEW
for your friend. You need to follow this next step to insure your friend gets credit for a PROFILE VIEW. Click "last page".
1 PAGE VIEW (#4 in the process)
6. You are now on your friends profile page. You need to stay there at least 3 seconds so the that they receive a PROFILE VIEW. you get no credit for this. It is not a PAGE VIEW for anybody. It is a PROFILE VIEW for your friend. As soon as people realize this, there will be
less complaining about who does what. At this point, you
can either go back to your control panel or to pick up more PAGE VIEWS for yourself, RATE your friend. Click "rate this profile".
1 PROFILE VIEW (no credit for you, only for your friend)
7. Now you can rate your friend, the friendly thing to do is rate them all 10's. Click the little buttons to do so and click "rate".
1 PAGE VIEW (#5 in the process)
8. Let the page cycle thru to your friends Profile. This is the only part I am not clear on. I do not honestly know if you get a PAGE VIEW for this page.

9. Now you are once again on your friends Profile page. You have just given them another PROFILE VIEW. You do not get credit for this page, only they do. If more people understood this process, there would be less issue and accusations over PAGE VIEWS.

10. Go back to your control panel or friends section to start the process again.
1 PAGE VIEW (#6 in the process)
In closing, here is what just happened. By following these steps, you just earned 6 PAGE VIEWS for yourself. Your friend that you commented and rated, got 2 PROFILE VIEWS for your efforts. If people understood the difference between the two, there would be no BLOG ONLY COMMENTS and let me also dispell some other Yuwie RUMORS.
I visited every friend on my list yesterday, 8 hours of work. I commented and rated each one (Except Scott, who hates being rated, I'm his 1st level so he's getting credit for all my work anyway...lol!). Here is what I found after visiting 510 profiles yesterday.
The ADS slow down pages more than any other thing on the site. Sometimes they take a while to load.
The NEWSFEED is just as bad. Here is a good idea if you have it. All pages on Yuwie load from TOP to Bottom. Move your NEWSFEED to the bottom of your profile. Nobody reads it anyway, but it helps the RSR. Your page will now load faster.
Chatrooms, music players, videos and slideshows slow down page loading as well, although not near as bad as the NEWSFEED and the ADS.
Comments do not slow down your page since they are
limited to 20 per page. I know on MySpace it takes forever to load some pages because they do not limit the amount of comments on a single page. Yuwie does, so it doe snot slow down your page loading unless someone sends you a full screen pic(we've all gotten them). Advise your friend to please be more careful on pic sizes and delete the comment.
Also setting comments to APPROVE ONLY gives you more PAGE VIEWS, as you have to approve each one.
You do not get more PAGE VIEWS for BLOG ONLY COMMENTS in general. I read a page yesterday that says you make more money, that's not true. Refer to everything above.
I hope this helps, it is not meant to be mean to anyone at all, this is educational, since no one has actually done this before. If I am wrong on any of this, please feel free to comment below. Yuwie is a learning experience for us all, and I hope this helps some people.
P.S.
I gained 2328 PAGE VIEWS from doing this yesterday. No cheating, one page at a time as described above! Also since the January stats are out now, Chey was right, Profile Views are already included in your Page Views when they update each 6 hours. This was the only thing I wasn't certain of and can say for sure about it now.
UPDATE!!!!
Since I wrote this blog months ago, a couple things have changed. First, the blog counter use to be just that, a counter, it had nothing to do with PAGE or PROFILE views. It was merely a counter, counting everytime the blog was viewed, including you yourself. This has changed recently. You will no longer see your own views of your blog count on the BLOG counter.
Also, with the addition fo "FRIEND ACTIONS", you now have a way to give your friends "PROFILE VIEWS". Most people do not get it yet and I don't have time to do the pics, but you should be able to figure it out. To give your friend a "PROFILE VIEW", simply click on "last page" once you have sent the friend action. Hardly anyone is doing this and it is the easiest, fun way to give your friend a "PROFILE VIEW"!!

"I have a secret to share with all of you. Many of you may be aware that MySpace distorts Yuwie links. Tom obviously doesn't want their users to know about Yuwie. It's OK, we have 2 solutions.
1 - Thanks to one of my friends - CRUSH, he discovered that we can post our YUWIE links in the subject box. It works, try it!
2- The Y Guy outsmarted MySpace and also bought www.yuwey.com which directs you to www.yuwie.com. With this, you can type you referral url and spell it as follows...
http://www.yuwey.com/yuwie.asp?r=86621
It works now, but that doesn't mean that Tom won't find out about it. Keep it on the DL and use it while you can.
If you have any tips to share, please post them."

| Radio TA available on Yuwie toolbar!!!! | Finally something cool on Yuwie....lol!! I just figured out how you can listen anytime you are on. Download the Yuwie toolbar, and you will see a little radio player on it. click on the little arrow and then click "Add Stations".
After that it will bring up a page where you select "Define you own station". Here is what you put in the boxes:
URL- http://12.217.62.204:8000
Name- Radio TA
Type- Windows Media Player
Click "ok" and "ok". You are ready to rock!!
On your Yuwie toolbar, click the arrow again and "My Stations". Here you will find Radio TA, click it and you will be listenin in no time!! If it doesn't start right up, click the stop button and then play. It is on 24/7 with nothing but 80's Rock to Now and more. Everything from Bon Jovi, Poison and Metallica to Pink, Madonna and a whole lot more!! Give it a try!

| Sorry, I don't come here much..... | I got tired of the popups, the moral minority, the MLMers, and the fact there is never more than 150 people on here total out of over 800,000 members, I started hanging out on Fubar. It's an online bar, it's a freakin blast! You do pretty much the same you do here, no you don't get paid, but big deal, I made $6 in over a year here.
