I've been reading a lot lately about the new method to prevent cheating while leaving comments, by diverting them to your Blog. Personally I think it's a lot to do about nothing. The only person they are really cheating is themselves. If they need the page views that bad, I'm more than happy to accommodate them.
The real reason for commenting at all in my opinion is to foster interactivity. If you have good content on your page with lots of captioned pictures or interesting Blogs entries, you are going to get all the page views you need. Then if you teach the same principals to your referral tree (which is why I'm posting this) you can afford to help even more, because you will be making money here!
Now here's the real tip . . .shhhhhh . . . if you LEAVE intelligent interesting comments on other people's Blogs, each one is a link back to your own content and when their friends come to visit and see what great stuff you have for them, it would make sense for them to look around and leave their own comments, wouldn't it? Who needs a friend chain when it all works so well naturally?
Now you can begin to get the feel of a real Social Network and not a place for schemes to beat the system by generating artificial friendships in the name of traffic and page views.
So, do you want a back link to your profile from a high traffic page?
Say something more interesting than 'Nice Blog'!
Then make sure you're ready for visitors.
